You’re not too sensitive, and you’re not overreacting.

You feel it in your body first — the bracing, the tight shoulders, the sense that something is about to go wrong even when nothing is. Maybe you can’t remember the last time you felt truly settled. Feeling on edge all the time is one of the clearest signs of a nervous system that has been running hot for too long. It doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means your body has been working overtime to protect you, and it hasn’t had a reason to stand down.

You might recognize this if…

  • You feel on edge for no reason you can name
  • You’re wired and exhausted at the same time
  • Your body braces before the day even starts
  • Small things set off a bigger reaction than they used to
  • You can’t remember the last time you felt truly settled

Your nervous system isn’t broken. It’s stuck in survival mode.

Your nervous system is always asking one quiet question: am I safe? Under ongoing stress, it learns to answer “not yet,” and stays braced, scanning, ready. That is dysregulation — and it’s why you feel wired and tired at the same time, why rest doesn’t feel restful, why small things tip you over.

Regulating your nervous system isn’t about forcing calm. A real nervous system reset comes from giving your body enough safety, gently and repeatedly, that it can finally shift out of high alert and back into rest.

Regulation isn’t willpower. It’s safety, repeated.

You can’t think your way into a calm nervous system, and you can’t force it either. What actually helps is the opposite of pushing — gentle, repeated signals of safety that let your body lower its guard.

That is the heart of my work: trauma-informed Reiki and guided practice that speak to your nervous system in the language it understands, so calming your nervous system stops being a task and becomes something your body remembers how to do. For a deeper, two-hour reset, the Full System Recalibration goes further.

Hi, I’m Tracy

I’m a Certified Reiki Master Teacher based in Maple Ridge, BC, and my work is trauma-informed and rooted in nervous system safety. I came to this the long way, through my own recovery — so I know what it’s like to live braced, to feel like calm belongs to other people.

Today I help people here in the Fraser Valley and online, wherever they are, settle an overloaded nervous system and come back to themselves. Sessions are gentle, at your pace, and never rushed.

Questions people ask before they start

What does it actually mean to regulate your nervous system?

It means helping your body move out of a constant state of high alert and back into a felt sense of safety and rest. Regulation isn’t about being calm all the time — it’s about your nervous system being able to settle again after stress, instead of staying stuck on.

Why do I feel on edge all the time?

Usually because your nervous system has been under load for a long time and has learned to stay braced, watching for the next thing to manage. It’s doing its job — protecting you — a little too well. The good news is that what the body learned under stress, it can also unlearn once it feels safe enough.

Can Reiki really help a dysregulated nervous system?

Yes. Reiki and guided practice work by sending your body gentle, repeated signals of safety, which is exactly what a braced nervous system needs to soften. It’s a complement to other support you may have, not a quick fix — but many people feel the shift in their body during the very first session.

Is this a replacement for therapy or medical care?

No. Energy healing and guided meditation are a gentle complement to the care you already have, not a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment. If you’re in crisis, please reach out to your doctor or a crisis line.

I’m new to this and have a trauma history — is it safe?

Yes. Everything is trauma-informed and gently paced, and most people come in brand new to this. There’s no forcing and nothing to relive. You stay in control the whole time, and you can pause or stop whenever you need to.

You don’t have to stay on high alert.
